The Domestic Shorthair is a name to describe a shorthaired cat of mixed breed origin. They are usually muscular, medium sized cats but can come in all sizes and variations! They come in an array of colors, but all have short, sleek hair coats.
Thanks to their mixed heritage, Domestic Shorthairs are generally relatively healthy cats, and aren’t often at risk for unusual health conditions. Their personalities can be anywhere across the cat personality spectrum, with some being exceptionally sweet and cuddly, and others seeming more closely related to a bobcat than a house cat. This is part of what makes them so fun! This is also the typical breed of cat seen at shelters or in most pet houses.
